My next stitching adventure is now underway as I have started stitching Jenny Adin-Christies gorgeous stumpwork Wren.

This cute little bird is actually a very practical needlework  Etui, with its beak cleverly hiding a thread cutter, the wings covering needle pages, storage space for a thimble on its back, and in the Mossy Hillock that it sits upon there is an Emery filled pincushion and storage space for tiny Embroidery scissors.

This cute little bird also has some really interesting embroidery and innovative stitched elements including Needlelace, Goldwork, and various detached elements. A lot of the stitching is done on fabrics that you don’t usually see in embroidery kits – like some wonderful tweeds.

First step is Wings and feathers ….
