I have now finished stitching this gorgeous little wren’s breastplate and applied it to her body.

Her wings, with the wool flannel needle pages tucked under them, have been attached by stitching to her body. There is a little magnetic closure to keep the wings tucked in when not in use.

Jenny Adin-Christie includes a really beautiful gold metal braid that is applied over the join between the needle laced back and the wool flannel underparts and when the wings are opened this braid is a wonderful unexpected detail to see.

While this little Wren is now finished, Jenny has designed her to sit on a stitched and embellished Mossy Hillock base. The base is in wonderful shades of green velvet and I have commenced stitching the many elements that make up this piece.

I give you another progress update in a few days..
